Picked up a mower to try and restore. It is a pitman type sickle mower, looks like it was once red, has 2 rear rubber tire caster wheels, which are slightly offset. Pitman is driven by an enclosed roller chain, (I think) All casting begin with the letter Z and are usually followed by 3 numbers. No identification plates or other stamping that we could find. What "breed of animal" do I have?

Red paint aside, sounds like Oliver don't know the model number. I have a David Bradley with single wheel that was made by Oliver and it is red. Does have chain drive.

Once upon a time, Oliver implements were red. I have seen green Oliver mowers like described, so I too would say Oliver.
