fast hitch mounting troubles

I have a Farmall 544 with a fast hitch and 3point conversion arms for the fast hitch(inserts). I am mounting a 7'10" disc mower to it but due to all the weight on the cutter bar side, when I lift the mower it leans badly to that side. This only allows me to lift the mower a couple of inches max. Is there some adjustment to the fast hitch that I am missing to straighten this out? I tried lowering the one side of the fast hitch while raising the other and this didn't really help. Is this because there are no stabilizer arms on a fast hitch? Do I need to convert over and put a 3point hitch on? Any suggestions are greatly appriciated.

My IHC 300 is pinned solid for no sway at all side to side in the fast hitch. I'm not familiar with your exact model of tractor, but can't your hitch be pinned solid also? I'd think all models have anti-sway limiters of some sort.

Jerry,
I am not an IH guy but I do know that there are pins 1 each toward the front of the fast hitch arms and I believe 1 underneath that when removed allow the hitch to float. These are removed to set the hitch up for plowing. If these pins aren't in the hitch can swivel just like you described. When the pins are in the hitch should be rigid. I'll bet the IH guys can tell you exactly where they are. Take a look.
