What would be the worth of an one row pull type Oliver #5 corn picker? This picker, powered by PTO, is in working condition have just picked some corn in SE Texas last week. The paint is good and the tin is straight. How much should I offer for it? Thanks....Gerald

For Texas, $100 tops. Here in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, might get closer to $500 for a nice one. Did you know that when Oliver quit making the #5, United Farm Tools bought the tooling for it and sold it for quite a few years afterwards?

I could have bought one at a sale last fall for $10 here in PA..... .....

Bottom line, get it as cheap as possible..... .

Eastern PA probably would have brought more. However, all depends what time of year and who's there. I bought a New Idea 311 picker in working order for $10 in March of 2002. In September of 2001, there was one in slightly better shape that I saw sell for $350. Somebody must've had corn to pick and no picker!
