But not yesterday. Couple weeks ago I had torn the old ford 250 baler apart and rebuilt the plunger slides and rails. I managed to keep it all looking org except the adjusters on the left side. Couldn't find square head bolts with the demple on the end (keeps from mucking up threads when pushing on the rail). Ended up using a alen head bolt. Few more cosmedic repairs and it'll be ready for paintin. Finished it up Friday, now it was wait for the clover to dry. I had cut 12a Wendesday with my recently aquired JD1209 MoCo. Big differance from an old wore out sickle. Only plunged twice (once was a t-shirt, the other a horse halter). Tedded every morning for 4 days. That stuff was thick and didn't want to dry. Anyway Monday after noon here we go. Bailer was workin like a new one. Busted one knot (think it was due to tiwne ball change). Ran between 3rd and 5th on the D19 depending on windrow. Put up couple hundred lickaty split. All in all it was a good day.

The nest time you mow with that 1209 Spread your tail flaps out wide and drop your inter flap clear down. this will make a 7' swath instead of a 3'. You will find that you will not have to ted as much and the hay will dry a lot faster. It does not hurt to run on fresh cut hay.And also make sure your rolls are close enough that they are crushing and breaking the steams. I mowed over ripe alfalfa this past Friday Afternoon and baled it Late Sunday afternoon and it was never tedded.Just mowed with a 1219 and wheel raked about 3 1/2 hours before baling.
Of course you have to have some sun to help it dry.
