I just saw the hay tedder on this site. We are an open air museum in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and have just received a tedder like the one shown. It has not been converted from horse drawn. Does anyone have information on this machine?

pauline, you might want to purchase the book " Encylopdia of American Farm Implements" by C H Wendel. Any book store should be able to get it for you. It is just chuck full of pictures and descriptions.

what tedder did you see pauline? This is a big place. We had a tedder at home when I was a kid. Pulled it with a tractor. It had forks on the back, spring mounted that ran on a crankshaft. Chain driven off the wheels. ours was a 9 foot McCormick deering machine. Later we had a 7 foot.

can't get it to ted. It appears to work fine, but just won't kick up the hay. I might be doing something wrong with it, but can't figure out what. It is an IH...gonna be a yard ornament, I guess.
