Trying to find out the maker of this old disk. The bearing castings are marked "1495E." Two are broken and wired together. Curious as to what type of bearing material they used, too. All the castings have grease fittings.

Thanks.

Bill

Hi, disk look like set of JD disks that we had back in the early 60s, except the ones we had used a trip rope mechanism instead of the levers to engage the disk. I believe the bearings were wooden centers inside the cast outer part. We had set of IH C? from the 1950's that had cast over wooden bearing as we replaced all the wood one time.

Shouldn't it have another cross-piece on the left side? Between the front & rear gang. Lot of weight on an old gal, we generally never put weight on the rear gangs.

There is another cross piece, but one of the mounting tabs to the front gang broke off--looks like its been cracked for a long time. The rear gang is in such bad shape I'm just using the front now. As far as the weight, that's what was always on it, so as far as I knew, that was how it was supposed to be. The cross links between gangs are quite worn down from rubbing together. It's been around the block a few times...
