i have a 1940 Farmall A that i have the A-192 mounted plow and a set of mounted cultivators for. i would like to end up putting a disc on this tractor. it was designed for use with a pull type disc however this would be unacceptable for my circumstances. does anyone have any suggestions for mounting a disc to the tractor? this tractor also has manual lift mechanisms. no exhaust lift or hydraulics. i am sure i can find a way to mount a disc to the tractor but am at a loss as to how i would lift this device. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
greg

I have a Hydraulic lift on my Cub But the spring assited lift will work fine to. The Cub and possisbly the A had a single gang dic that attached to the draw bar on a pivot. I built a pivot like that one on a 2 gang 3point disc for my friends A. It attaches to the rear drawbar and uses the cultivator lift to raise it up like the original single gang disc. THe discs 3point hitch is removed and the homebuilt pivot is botled or welded to the front of the dist frame. and a hook is need in the rear of center of the disc for the cultivator lift to pick it up. It works really well.

i thought about your suggestion before, however, even with the smaller cub disc, wouldnt this setup be a little too heavy for the cultivator lift?

i also have a mounted one bottom plow with manual lift. i would think this setup would be more favorable to the heavier weight.

can anyone dispute this?
