Old Steel Hay Rake

I picked up an old steel hay rake off ebay. I got it for $25.00 It actually works. I don't have pistures of it yet, but when looking for a name I found a symbol that looks like this
Is that a Massey Harris symbol? There are big cast pieces for the gear drive, and a large link chain to drive the rake mechanism. The guy said it was from the 20s.

My symbol got left out. I guess cause I used the greater than and less than symbols. There is a less than symbol followed by an MH then a greater than symbol. It kind of looks like the unknown windrower by Frank Ryan in implement photos

no doubt to me that t is a MH, but Id be hard pressed to bet a dime that it is in the 20s. JD made steel wheeled rakes up into the early 60, that I know, so I would imagine MH made them up until the mid 50s

Do you think I can get teeth for it? They are these small spring steel coils with two teeth about a foot long. The coils roll around a round bar and they are held by a bolt. I need to get some pictures so I can show what I'm talking about.

I guarantee you can get springs for it. For new ones, call 888 928 3276 and ask for their catalog. Ital have pics of all the teeth it has, just match them up. I just got a doz teeth fr my JD yesterday from them. If they dont have yours, and remember, where and how they mount is more ipportant than how the teeth come down to a point. Thanks a lot Bill. I ordered a catalog. Do you know what this MH rake would have been painted? I'd like to just get a coat of paint on it to keep it from rusting up any more.

Richard, it sounds like you've got the genuine article there. I have one too, and it's a pretty good tool. Wasn't missing a single tooth. Then I loaned it (and a Super M) to my brother. Stupid.stupid. stupid.Oh, well..... Mguy.
