Has any one ever made a small boom to attach to atv and a spot sprayer to spray small hay fields? Don't know much about spray nozzles but wanted like a 10 foot boom just to cover a few acres.

Bought the 14 gal sprayer, and made the boom (8 ft) from 1" light square tube. Used nozzles from Blaines, and looped hose between nozzles. Adjusted height and spacing (needed 2 more nozzles) to get adequate coverage. Spent about 2 days getting things set right and about $75 on parts. Might have been cheaper to buy the boom to begin with, but I'm not sure what (if any) nozzles come with it. That's where the cash is... I don't have any problem with flow. Put pressure regulator on it, and with all 6 nozzles going, the pump cycles on and off, as it can keep up (1.7 gal/min???).

Agri Supply sells a couple of them. Go to the URL below and it should bring you to page 12 of the catalog. There are 3 options for the ATV

one thing you might want to check is how much flow would be required for the number of nozzels for a 10 foot boom and how much output the pump on the atv sprayer would have. The atv spot sprayers I have looked at seem to have small electric pumps on them designed for one nozzel - more than one and you may get a drip system instead of a spray system.

Tra: Check out Northern Tool (northerntool.com) they have (or used to have, at least) an ATV sprayer similar to what you're looking for.
