We are trying to replace the dog in the drive wheel on our NH 256 rake, but ran into a little bit of a problem. To replace the dog in the left wheel, we simply had to pull the cotter pin from the hub that held on the dog pin, and changed the part before putting everything back together. However, on the right wheel, the cotter pin was placed with the head down and the ends on the outside. We can't figure out how to get the cotter key out, since the head is against the axle spindle and there isn't enough room to get it out. Does anybody know how to replace the dog and dog pin on the right wheel. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This was not one of New Holland's better ideas. That cotter pin is a bugger. Torch it or cut it or mutalate it. There is no easy way. That cotter pin has more than once almost cost me my Christianity!!! Steve
