Yes, The current Lely Splendimo and Vermeer 30 series mowers have the same drive transmissions. The Vermeer has a Kevlar curtain, heavier blades, & a heavier end support. We sell both Lely & Vermeer. The current Vermeer 40 series pull type MOCO uses a Splendimo cutterbar and the rest is MFG by Vermeer in Pella, IA.

Take a look at the HayMAXX disc mowers you see some of the features of both Lely and Vermeer incorperated into this disc mower. HayMAXX disc mowers are made in the USA.

Quite a few around here. Good machines. I've heard they make Vermeer's disc mowers but don't know for sure.

I had a quick look at Vermeer's website and It would not suprise me, they look virtually identical to the Lely disc mowers.

My source is my neighbor who bought two new 101/2 ft Lely mowers this year. He also runs an older Lely mower, too. He said the Vermeer dealer told him they where built by Lely to Vermeer's specs.

I cannot comment on parts availability, as I take it you are 'across the pond' from me? but I did run an 8 foot Lely Optimo 240 mo-co ( a Lely disc mower, with a nylon tine type conditioner bolted on the back ) and it was a lovely machine. The Lely is one of the easiest disc mowers to spin, I ran mine behind a 66 hp MF 168 and it handled it easily. They are very popular in the UK.
