brakes on 600

Help, changing brakes on friends 600. There is a pin holding the shoes on that goes thur the backing plate. I removed the keeper, but can not remove the pin. Does this pin drive thur the backing plate? thank you very much..... ..E. Ray

You say a 600, but you don't say what make or what kind of equipment. Are we talking about a Ford 600 tractor? or something else? If it's a Ford 600 you might get quicker help on the Ford tractor forum rather than here on the implement forum.

I'm looking at the brake overhaul section of the Ford tractor manual, but I just want to know for sure that's what we're talking about.
