My old ih 46 baler did pretty good for it,s self. Baled 1300 hundred bales missed a few but what i found out was that when it would miss tie the twine was wraped around the twine bill. So i would have to tighten the twine tension in the twine box. This stopped it from miss tying and would go right on with out a miss. I also put new twine bills on the old baler this spring. Run the baler at a slower rpm works fine. 16 stroke per minute. Nice midsize windrows keeps the person on the wagon busy. Pull mine with m farmall. How did you do with your baler? Don,t story to much o.k. ha ha.

I shouldn't say it, but my Hesston 4550 has done 3500 without a miss so far. It's only a year old, though. 3500 more to go! Then there's the straw . . . .

My white IH46 seems to have the same characteristics as yours. Likes a lower rpm, smaller windrow. First cutting went great but I broke quite a few bales second cutting, twine left on the RH bill hook. Maybe I will try the tension trick. The way the twine tensioner is made you can't really just tighten one side can you? Just bought this one at auction and am trying to get everything back in shape.
