Trouble with NH 67 baler

I need some help please? My new holland 67 baler broke the drive chain and now the shere bolt on the knotter has broke and I replaced it and now the neddles do not make it back to the home position before the plunger hits the stop arm. I have it in time I think but it is still braking the shere bolt evertime. Any help? Thanks Jeff

Check if it is slipping at the knotter brake and letting the needles fall too quick.

I had a similiar problem with my 68 when I was timing it. I followed everything to the tee and when I jogged it around ( just easing on and off the P.T.O.) it hit the safety. I believe I advanced the timing mark a tooth on the knotter sprocket and it worked fine. I thought that should move up the knotting process. Hope it works. Let me know.

It is not in time , run your plunger until the main crank is straight up between the timing marks cut into chassis , then check to see where your timing marks are on the tine bar drive and needle drive, if you can't find the marks (or they are gone you will have to time it by hand
