Well all good plans must change. Looks like I won't be gettin the nice and shinny NH315. Went and mowed, half way though, tractor begins to limp. My first thought was broken axel, Turned out a rear tire split wide open. Think I ran over an old fence post and it came up through the side wall. So there I sit 9:00pm friday night, half the hay down, and a broken tractor. Auggg... So I spend Saturday morning phone'n every tire store within 50 miles looking for a good 18.4-34 tire and someone willing to come out on a weekend. Found 1 used tire (worst than the dry roted tires I have) and 1 pair of new. Long story short they came and did 1 be back during the week do do the other. $506 was the bill, (just the one) with the bulk being tire and tube. Then add cal, and labor. O'well guess that how it goes.

We put all our tires on ourselves..much cheaper and not hard to do if ya know how. As for loading them, I will have the guy come do it or take the tractor to him. But I will not pay a guy to mount a tire when I can do that myself, Jim

Ouch is right. Wow, over $500??? Every time I hear what some folks have to pay for stuff it makes me appreciate our tire guys. Last 34 I got (2yrs ago) was $385.00 ($290 for the tire). The rest was the farm call and 2 bags of CaCl.

I just bought 2 7.50x15 three rib tires for my tractor and 1 for my haybine.. $245.00. By the time you figure in new tubes, fee to mount and disposal it all adds up. Atleast you only have to replace tractors tires in what 15-20 years.. unless you find a fence post.

a few years ago one of the front tires on my combine developed a bulge. The tire was worn enough though that both front tires had to be changed (in order to keep things level). $1500.00 --THAT stung.
