I bought a used haybine this year and have done two fields with it. I put the sickle mower on to trim around the corners and it became so clear as to the time a sickle mower consumes, I can't imagine that I cut hay with one for a number of years, like every thing technology has a way of making things obsolete. I'll keep the sickle mower for triming along the ditch but its days in the field are over...my dad said that about our hayloader too. We did just over a thousand bales in two days after work!! This starting hay at 5PM and going until dark and being to work the next day in the heat we've had..well I'm pretty well sapped..good luck with your hay fellas..... .Mike in Exeter Ontario

It is only when you get your hands on new technology that you realise how outdated things soon become. We were one of the first in our area to have a Bigbaler, and I remember how astonished people were to see these 'huge' blocks of hay in our fields. Now it all seems so commonplace.
"How on earth did we get things done?"
