The local farm supply store carries the large pickup fingers for rakes for $1.99 but not the smaller ones used on the Ford baler. NH dealer wants $11 each!!. Does anyone know of a source for aftermarket parts at a reasonable cost. Thought about trying to make my own. Anyone successfully do that?

I have the same problem with my 542. Mine has the rubber base teeth. Sounds like you may have the same. Jerry D had a source for a generic finger that looked to be close, but I have yet to order one to try. Price was more like $3 each. I've temporarily misplaced the name of the website, but maybe Jerry will chime in with that info.

Yep, sounds like they are the same. I thought about trying to get some spring steel rod and welding it directly to the metal bracket and eliminate the rubber. Will check with my welding friend tomorrow for ideas. Jerry where are you?
Thanks

Hey Bruce! I sent you an email. Since then I've talked to the guy at Shoup. For me to order ONE tooth and have it shipped to Utah, they want to charge me $20 freight! They were going to charge me $7.50 until they heard I was in Utah, then the cost went up. I was OK at $7.50 because the total is still about the same as a stock Ford tooth with the potential that, if it fits, I can get a lot more of them for a lot less than the OEM tooth.

So, if you are closer to Illinois (where Shoup is) than I am, maybe you could buy a test tooth and let me know if it's gonna work. I'd be glad to split a big order with you if it works out so we can get the best possible price.

Let me know what you think.

I'm right here. Now you are talking about the rubber mounted teeth correct. The picture is from a company that sells them by the case of 100 so I don't know if you could buy from them Shoup sells them individually. The top one fits Jim's description and I bet will fit, so order a couple and let us all know if they work

Shoup Manufacturing at 1800-627-6137

It is a Lockwood Innes or Henry Bean Windrower tooth part number RMT275

We recently purchased a Ford 532 baler. We keep breaking needles and the last two we bought cost over $400 which is almost as much as we paid for the baler. Does anyone know of a source for needles that might be cheaper?

Those rubber rake teeth shown in the add cost 1.39 at the local Co-op here and I think that's the same price at Tractor Supply Company.

Hey thanks for the link.
They have the best price on a battery box for my Farmall 300 I have seen yet.

Would not weld. Tear up your baler. Better to spend a little money.
