Hi, I have a Dearborn Sickle bar mower. I have ran the splines out of the drive pulley and would like to see if anyone knows a way to repair these internal splines effectively. I can build up and re cut the splines on the shaft but do not know how to handle the splines on the inside of the pulley. any help will be greatly appreciated.
thank you in advance.

micheal

I'd look for a splined hub for a weld-a-hub pulley or a splined coupler (Baum Iron at Omaha lists those, but not cheaply) and carve it to fit the new hole I bored in the original pulley and have it welded in.

Otherwise I think most internal splines are cut with a broach and that broach would cost more than the mower is worth.
