We were having problems with the knotter last season so we looked into pricing a new knotter. NH dealer wanted $474 for a new knotter for our 68. We decided to tinker with the old knotter and see if we could get it working better. We couldnt, so this year we went in to buy a new knotter and found that the price had been reduced to $147! It is identical to the other knotter and is a genuine CNH part. The parts man couldnt explain why the price dropped, but the price is correct. Thought I would pass that information on. At that price it almost isnt worth messing with worn knotters at all...

For a Knotter??? Now is this for the WHOLE assembly??? I bought two bill hooks 42.00 each. and knife arms and extra roller bearings for knife arms. total was 170.00. I found out that both my 65 and 273 usually all I need to do is keep change out the roller bearings and replace the bill hooks when it starts acting up and im good till next time..

Sounds like a miss print on the price sheet. Looks like the same numbers mixed up.
I am going to call my dealer tommorow!!!
Thats not much more than I paid for 1 bill hook and 1 knife arm.

Kelly,
Let us know what you find out! Is $147 the real price? Does it fluctuate, some years expensive/some years not? Meaning, is now the time to buy???

Thanks,
- Jim H.

I called my dealer. He said his price was $145.
He said they were like 400 bucks last year.
I ordered one for a spare at that price.

Kelly:

What is the part number for the entire knotter assembly?

I was just quoted $221.61 just for the knotter frame on a 273.

My book does not show a number for the complete knotter assembly.
But my dealer said the price he had was complete with the bill hook and knife arm.
Here give my guy a call. He can ship it to you.
