Thanks for the follow up on the other question. Here is one more - when the baler ties, I seem to get one string that is good and tight, the other seems to be a little loose and sometimes ties the knot without the other end of the string so I end up with a bale that only has one tied string and the other string comes out without a tied string (although there is a knot on one end)about every 5th or 6th bale does this and I have to rebale it. Any thoughts on what I can do to fix this? I've watched the needles to see if they go up at the same time and they do so I'm not sure whats wrong. Very frustrating.
Thanks in advance for the follow ups.

You may want to pick up an operator's manuel for the baler, they pretty well go through the trouble shooting on knotters. Usually just adjustment. The 283 is a good baler and as said before had more strokes per minute than earlier ones and I believe the later ones were slowed doen somewhat again. Only problem I remember with them when I worked for NH dealer was the pto shafts. They were heavy but seems like with the bigger tractors guys still had troubles.

Need to know which end of the twine is tied and which end is not. Also compare the length of this string to the other string and see if they are approximately the same length. Let me know.
