could any of you tell me how to correct my old baler's knotting troubles. it seems to leave the top string in the knotter most of the time. it only makes a bale once in a while by itself. any info / manuals any of you might have that could help me get it baling again would be most appreciated. thanks, stan

I have a 27, but the knotter's probably similar.

In order to make the knot correctly you need:
1) Twine held at correct tension
2) Knife hits twine in proper place between disk and billhook (position and timing)
3) Knife is very sharp

Knife position and timing is given in the owner's manual, tolerances are probably given in 32nd of an inch. Twine should be held pretty tight; if one side is better, try adjusting the bad side to the same tension and knife position.
