How is the slack adjusted on the flywheel of a JD 364 baler?

I've got a 347...my guess is this. The internal part of the drive will be whats worn. Its the part that fits on the drive. You can put the brass bushing on it and that will help to some extent, but I found the real wear was the....can't remember what you call it...its what the shear pin bolts to...about 65 or 70 bucks at JD as I recall. As I recall, its tapered to fit the gear box drive, this is why tightening the slotted nut will help a little, but I found to really make it "right", go buy a new one and be done with it. Just My Humble Opinion.

JP,there is a big washer with slotted nut that holds flywheel on shaft. When shear pin shears flywheel rotates on shear bolt hub which has bushing for slack.Sometimes shear pin hub has to be replaced too get all slack out. Also hole for shear bolt can be worn too large causing baler to shear pin easily.Jim B
