I had trouble with the right side because of not enough tension on the string coming out of the twine chamber when i put a little tensionn on it the other side messed up I'm trying to find a happy medium. It does o.k. for 20-30 bales or so then misses and i have to cut string off of bill hook and start over. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. You guys are great help. I've tried different string. When it ties something lets the string wrap up around bill hook and knife arm can't cut it loose and thus the problem starts.

I have just aquired a 275 NH and after much work (it was set up for years) have everything turning and lubricated. But I do not have any idea how to thread the twine to check it out as to baling hay. Can anyone help?

I had problems with the knot hanging on the bill hook. The knife on the knife arm was cutting the twine too late in the tying cycle. I adjusted that and it works fine now.

You might check the clutch on the pto drive. I had a 268 that had only 1 hole for the pins to caught the 2 pins. It was no transfering full power the baler.

The information James gave you is good. Also check and make sure that you have the twine threaded right and you might loosen off of the twine tension at the twine holder a flat at a time and see if that helps. Good Luck

Take out the single bolt towards the rear of the right knotter. Swing the entire knotter up. As you go up, the knotter runs through most of its cycle. Watch to make sure the knife arm drags against the bottom of the bill hook. If it does not touch it, the string may not be pushed off. While doing this, you also need to check that the surface which drags across the bill hook goes past the bill hook at least 3/8 of an inch at it's farthest point of travel.

I just went through the same thing. I bent the knife arm every which way. Finally gave up and put on a new one. It worked a lot better.

You might want to check the brass rollers located on the knife arms at the opposite end from the knife. If these rollers have flat spots, it can cause your knotter to miss.
