Pulled this old red ford baler home. It's in sad shape but I will have fun for a while. It has the numbers 14-270 or I4-270. Any ideas or info will be appreciated. Some sheet metal is rusted badly and gear work in the knotter area froze but not too tight I hope. May never get it running but would like to have some help, please. Manuals maybe?
Thanks

Congrats on a learners machine. No need to invest in anything right now but a good bath to wash off 50 years of dirt and grime. Best place to start.

Jerry I contacted New Holland on an 800 number and they sent me a microfiche for my newly aquired Ford 540 baler. They have no printed manuels for my baler. I think it was about $8.00. I just bought a microfiche reader on E-Bay for $2.25.
I will look for the 800 number and post it for you in the next day or two.
Frank

Frank; Have a mate (we have a beer) that has one of these things ( Ford model 14-270 serial no 2380)becauseI was familiar with IH balers 30 years ago he keeps asking me technical questions about it and I do not have a clue what he's talking about. My old Irish Uncle that owned the bloody thing was always fiddling with the knotters,I remember and he would never let me near them as they were a work of art (he said). Any info you might have avaiable would be appreciated and I'll buy you a beer next time you,re down this way.

Regards, Dave
