I have been looking for an older square baler. My father-in-law seen an old baler along the road for free. He has been told and I have called on it and they say it is a Ford and that it is the original color. Anyone heard of such a thing?

Probably a 150 or 250. Not bad balers if not worn out. The orange is the orangeish red paint that has oxidized. Check it out. For free if the tires will stand up it is worth dragging home just to play with to learn how the knotters work. Not sure how much experience you have with a baler but just taking this one home and investing $15 in a manual and trying to get it to bale would be worth it for the education.

Back in the 40's, 50's, and 60's almost all of Ford's implements were a reddish-orange color. There are about 10 of these old Ford balers sitting around this area and all of them are reddish-orange.

Dale,

When I was a kid, about 40 years ago, a friend of the family had an orange Ford baler. All that I remember about this baler is that it made very loose bales about 35 - 40 lbs. maximum. I could try to find out more info on this if you would like.

Good Luck!
