Can anyone tell me what is a fair price for a John Deere 412 two-bottom plow?

It is what ever the market will bear. Usually they sell in good condition for $350 to $450. Last month I saw one auctioned with rusty moldboards for $900 in the midwest. They are very popular.

Larry G,
Thanks for the info.
I found a 412 which the owner is asking $500.00 for.
It's in good condition, but the price seemed a little high.
Can you give me any additional details about the 412 such as when they were made, weight, etc...?
Thanks again.
Mark G

Mark, I'll have to do a little looking. I have a 412 and I suppose it probably weighs 250 to 300 lbs. Was built in the mid 1950's primarily for the Dubuque tractors. Several variations, some with small metal tail wheel, some no tail wheel, etc. A very good plow and popular with the city farmer or anyone with a small acreage. Let me know if you need anything else and I will dig out my book. Larry
