That is a early style of the 116 baler, 16" bale chamber, I can tell from the pickup, the balechamber is what is loaded in the pickup, the later versions had a different pickup and bale chamber and were the 114, 14", and 116, 16" bale chamber, have one of each versions of 116 on pto, paid $35 for first older better version, $70 for later, version, later version has provision for hydrolic cylinder on pickup, transport position 8', will load on 7 1/2' trailer, bale position need 16' to get thru

My grandfather had a 116W, bought new in 1946. They were all wire-tie, side chute balers until the 14T came along around 1955. The one for sale on e-bay, unfortunately, looks ready for the scrap heap.

My uncle had one of these. Pulled a sled behind to stack bales which was interesting with the side release. As I remember bales were very heavy as was the baler. It was wire alos as appears the one in the picture is, wire boxes above the bale chamber. The one in the picture has some extra stuff in the pickup mechanism.

Casey: I remember going with my dad when I was about 8 years old in 1950. It was to a demonstration of one of these balers. The one we watched that day 53 years ago was a wire tie machine.
