Knotter rebuild on my NH 68

Getting there. Almost done just a few more things to do then ready for bailing season!!!

Today I rebuilt the knotters on my baler. I was originally only going to replace the bill hooks, but as I got into it I decided it would be best to rebuild the whole knotters. So I made a run to my friendly neighbor hood New Holland dealer. Left there about $300 lighter in the wallet. Wile I was at it I also replaced the needles on the baler with a brand new set. After I got done installing the parts and setting it up. I ran the baler on my H for the 1st time. Every thing seemed to work fine. I did break a fly wheel sheer bolt but that was because I had the bale tension set way way too high. The bale was like a brick. I also discovered that the Front PTO shaft on the baler is not the right one. The end that attaches to the baler is a standard shaft size, but the shaft on the baler is smaller. Kind of slopped around a bit. Will have to correct that with the proper connector.

What a great web site. Very in depth and up close. I have a NH 67, I'd like to paint. Wonder where I could get decals for it?

Good luck finding decals. NH does not have them any more. I will get some made from a decal shop one of these days. Knotters and such broke my bank for a wile.
