Kinda long so hang in there.
This is about the best one I've pulled yet. I've got an old JD 510 round baler(I know, piece of junk). Anyway, I had a bearing go out on one of the lower belt rollers. Got a couple of replacement rollers to replace the ones that were chewed up when the bearing went out, new bearings for three rollers and a couple of new belts (catch that, 2 new belts instead of 7). Now, got everything apart, got new rollers ready and replaced bearings in all three that were taken off. Put belts back in place and put everything back on the baler and lastly, was adjusting the belt tension. Got done and was standing there feeling all proud of MY TWO DAYS WORK since the baler should run now and guess what, I noticed the new belts didn't tighten up. Just did not notice how much the older belts had shrunk and believe me, there's enough difference to scare me. I called and verified they were the correct belts. Now, you may have thought you had a bad weekend but I don't believe you were as dumb as I was.
I called myself looking at the length of those belts when they arrived but... guess I missed something.
Have a good week everyone and if you just happen to have to replace the bottom belts in a JD 510, remember, the old belts shrink!!!
