Plow moldboard color

If a restored plow is to be used only for show, what color should the moldboard, shares and shins be painted?

Dave: If you want to have them a dull black, spray paint them with graphite. That is what I do when done plowing. Next year when you want to plow, it is just like starting with a shined up moalboard.

I know you said its just for show, and the graphite also looks quite good.

Most were black. If your plow is an IH dark blue.

they are black when new,after I use the plow I paint them with alum. paint.and the next year they clean-up fast and plow easy.-mike
