I am thinking about putting a loader on my 2510. The two that have been recommended to me are:
JD model 47
Leon model 600
anyone have an opinion or another loader to consider?

thanks,
Ben

Ben,
Any loader for a 3010/3020 will do.2510 is the same frame as 3020 with a smaller motor.

I would think a Deere # 48 or #148 would work well. I have a #48 on my 2520.

thanks for the info.

I checked out one of the forms archives and a couple years ago there was a long discussion on whether a 2510 should even have a loader. seems like the trans won't take a lot of forward and reverse. I guess all things are relative, limited use would probably be OK.

Ben, I wouldn't want to disagree with the experts but I can't see any reason the transmission wouldn't hold. That is a very good tractor and relatively trouble free. My 2520 has a power shift and it has over 7000 hours and not been touched. It works great. I have dual hyd. so can operate both controls with tractor levers.

Larry, your comparison of a 2520 with powershift to a 2510 syncro may seem logical but... The 2520 is a 203 gas,or a 219 diesel @61 hp. The 2510 is a 180 gas,or a 202 diesel @54 hp. The gears in the transmission on a 2510 syncro are lighter than those in the redesigned 2520. In either case the powershift would make a better loader tractor on a 2520 or a 2510. But to compare a syncro to a powershift is like comparing a four speed to an automatic in a truck.
Having had a 2510 with a No. 47A loader and two sets of gears and syncronizers, I would say a good 2510 will hold up to judicious and careful use.
I also have two 2520s one with a 148 loader and a 48 loader on the other that will work circles around the 2510.(see photo gallery). Never had trouble with trans or syncros on either one.
P.S. The loader has been removed from the 2510 and sold, but I still use it for chores.

We had a 2510 with synchro-range transmission and 148 loader. Trust me, the synchro does not hold up well to constant forward-reverse use.
