JD 71 flex 2 row corn planter

i am looking to buy a good john deere 71 flex corn planter. it is a two row and has the insectacide attachments. it is in real good shape and am wondering how much it is worth. also, were they good planters? Any advice would be appreciated.

dan, I have seen row units alone , no tool bar bring $100.00 / unit, so a complete planter can reasonably be 200 to 300 for a 2 row rig.
But offer low , then go up!

I know what you mean there - I've seen a single IHC 295 row unit go for $100 at an auction. Two years later I just bought a 15 row bean planter with all 295 units - cost $250 & I was the only bidder.

So no guessing on what it's worth - the 71 is pretty much comparable.

Paul, A year or so back I was at an auction , saw these units go for this. I agree with you it depends on whose at the auction. And whatever their reason for wanting that particular item.
