IH 56 Corn Planter

I just purchased an IH 56 Corn planter and was wondering where to get a manual from. Also, does it apply fertlizer accuratly.

I'm looking for what sprocket combinations will give me what fertlizer rate and seed population per acre. I'll be using 30" row spacing and looking to achieve a 30,000 seed pop per acre and 15,000 seed pop per acre.

I've got a model 56 planter; they're a pretty rugged and dependable unit. Be advised that the seed population will vary widely not only due to sprocket settings, but the exact plate used. I've calibrated mine by dropping seed for about 10' in the barnlot then counting the number of grains dropped in a given distance (don't count the first grain in the series) and doing some math with a calculator.

Purchased a IH56 4row planter,and con't for the life of me get it to drop corn in a 4" sequence.
Any idea of what sprocket to use?
