I have an oppurtunity to purchase a sickle bar mower for a farmall, a John Deere 14T baler, a John Deere rake, and a conditioner all in working or very close to working order for $500.00. Sounds like a really good deal to me, what do you all think?
Thanks!!

Buy it. You can do no worse than my old man who lost $800 in a poker game last Saturday night and did not bring home nothing.

800 bucks!!! Wow if I came home after losing $800 in a poker game. My wife would ..... Well lets just say I would have a higher voice inflection.

Oh and the price for these implements is way way way too high. Souldnt even concider buying them...
Where did he say they were at again?

Hey, where is it at? While you futz around I will be glad to pony up $500, even if repairs are needed, it's still a good deal.

Get off the internet & close the deal, before someone else comes along... ;)

What type of JD rake, I'm not familiar with their numbers, but is it 2 wheel rubber basket rake? They often go $1000 alone. Even if it's older model, you've got $125 or so in each item - that's bottom end pricing.

For where I am, that's one of those deals that is "too good to be true." Maybe stuff is just a lot cheaper where you are, but I'd be a little skeptical unless it was my own Pa tryin' to be nice to me.

Well its kinda one of those deals where the son decided not to farm like dad did, and so the stuff has set for about 15 years inside the pole barn. Some stuff needs new tires, etc, but mechanically everything is there and still has good grease and seems like if you just knocked the cobwebs out, it would work great, and the son just doesn't really care about the equipment nor does he want to really mess around with trying to sell each part.

you better grab it now before he comes to his senses. Around here some of that stuff individually would fetch $500.

good luck,
Tom

Wish I could find a deal like that. I picked up a JD #5 mower for $50, which to me was a good deal. But a rake is a different story, I can't find one for less than $500. Older used balers are almost impossible to find in eastern Washington.
