I had one I bought 4 years ago and paid $600- it was in good shape and was the newer style with the rectangualr shaped seed hoppers but didn't have Gandy's
during four years I had put one set of disk openers for seed on it and sold it last year to someone who really wanted it for a small sweet corn patch for $1,200

I have watched those old plate planters go for $100 to $1000 at auctions in all kinds of conditions. Most of the time it has been a case of having at least two people who want it more then the condition of the planter that determined the price. If you need it and its in the condition you state $600 to $1000 would be fair. Last year I watched a IH 400 air planter in good condition with the control box and 4 drums sell for $200. After it sold a guy walked up to my brother (he ran it up) and said he had one he would sell for $100 (some parts missing). You say corn planter, is it 30" or 40" rows? If its 40" rows the value would be wuite a bit less.
