Well it now time to get this thing going.
What size rivets do I need to buy to replace the cutters?
Also any one know where to get a 4 x9 tire for the thing?
Thanks
Kelly

Could also get the tire from www.gemplers.com. I've been pleased with their products and service.

Kelly, I bought a nice replacement tire for my No. 5 through Miller tire. They had a replacement tube as well. I bought the longer rivets at TSC, and the shorter ones through Deere. I like the Deere quality better. I also bought the bolts for holding the sections on the bar, then got cold feet and stored them away. I decided I wanted to do it the old original way and rivieted all new sections on my bar.

One additional bit of information. Tractor Supply Company, TSC, sells complete cycle bars for JD mowers for about $55 dollars. I ordered one so I could look it over to be sure it is what I want before I buy. A spare bar is good idea. Deere sells them for around $80.

Groovy!!! I see there is a TSC in South St. Paul.
I might have to take a lunch break around there some time.

You may be able to get the tire from a place that handles lawn mower parts or a tire store could order one. Took one off of an old JD #56 riding mower for my #8 mower. Rivets are easy to come by, get some long ones for the cutting head also. I prefer to use bolts as the are easier to replace in the field. They are tye type used on swathers but will generally work with a mower also.

Just run down to the JD dealer in Isanti and they will set you right up with the proper rivets.
