I have a Woods L59 mower on an AC B. I'm new to tractors and all. I decided to take the blades off of the mower to sharpen/replace but for the life of me I can't get them off. I haven't tried anything major yet (heat, impact wrench) but I'm wondering if they may be left-hand threaded. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks,

Eric

Yes they are left handed threads. I said a few choice words when I took mine off for the first time. I took a 5lb maul and tapped the head of the bolt several times and also let them set a couple of days with penetrating oil. Finally they came off.I put anti-seize back on the threads of the bolts, come off alot easier now. Good luck with yours. Mark

I live near Cedar Rapids, Ia. I got parts for mine at Quad Co. Impliment in Blairstown, Ia. Look in the Yellow Pages for a dealer.

Is that the one driven by the 60 inch v belt?

I just put three new blades on my Woods L59 mower.
They are definitely left hand thread.

In my opinion, Woods blades are worth more than the cheapo blades. Woods blades last longer for me, and that more than evens up the price because i don't have to sharpen them as often. Call around and find a Woods dealer, start with tractor dealers to find a Woods dealer. Robert

Eric,

Any chance you have a Tractor Supply Company (TSC) store nearby? TSC has a pretty good inventory of parts to include mower blades for Woods mowers. I don't know the size of your mower but I have seen generic blades for 5 Ft mowers in our local TSC. Those three blades cost $35. Blades for larger mowers were in stock as well. A quick look in the TSC "Blue Book" shows Woods blade costs vary from $11.21 to $36. Hope this helps.

Jim
