I have a NH 275 and I like it very much. You might want to check the wear of the brass rollers on the ends of the knife arms. Worn rollers can be a cause for the knotters to skip. The rollers can be accessed by tripping the knotter trip arm and manually turning the knotter until you can remove the allen head screw(the screw that holds the roller on the end of the knife arm) through a hole in the side of the gear

The 275 was produced from 7/1/66-7/31/71. It is very similar to the 269(7/1/64-7/31/68) and the 273(7/1/68-7/31/77). All are 14x18 inch bales, and all run at the same strokes per minute. I don't know the exact differences. Have you searched here to get everyone's comments from the past?

269, 273 AND 275 BALERS WERE ALMOST I DENTICAL EXCEPT FOR CHANGES IN FEEDER HOUS. 275 HAD A SUPER SWEEP PICKUP, WHERE THE TEETH ARE CLOSER TOGETHER. THEY RAN AT 65 (i believe) strokes per minute. required only a 35 to 40 hp tractor. h farmall would run it, but m was better. wd allis, or a john deere.wouldnt use any smaller then that.mostly had twine tie, but also came with wire tie.very good balers.
