Does anyone know a source for seed plates for an old two-row Massey-Ferguson planter? My friend is looking for some corn plates. Not sure about the model of the planter. Our local MF dealer says he cant get plates for older planters.

Depends on model of planter, some used a 11" daimeter plate, others would use standard plastic or J D steel plates

Check with your local seed dealers also. I just had the same instance with my JD 4 row planter, I needed a certain plate for my sunflower seed that I will be planting. I was at the seed company to buy some seed and just happened to inquire about seed plates, he took me up in the attic. Literally had stacks and stacks and stacks of seed plates, they were approx. $10/ea

Sorry, I thought the post I did yesterday went through. I would call another dealer. I have a model 37 or 39, can't remember the exact # with out looking at it, and bought plates from my dealer last year. He ordered them from the factory. I wouldn't be surprised if your dealer just didn't want to be bothered. There were several different sizes. My dealer just have the factory fax the description page from the manual. It had all the sizes called out along with the part #'s. Just picked out what I wanted, called the dealer, and picked them up a week later. I think they were around $20 each. Good luck
