My neighbor gave me an old JD disk and I'm still trying to figure out how it works and about how old it is. It's a tandum where the front rack draws forward along a piece of curved strap steel but the mechanism that allows the disk to engage or locks it in disengage is missing. There is also a 1 inch diameter bar that runs from the hitch and locks into a machined hole in the back rack. I assume that the bar is to pull the back set of disks around so they are in cutting mode and at an oppisite angle to the front set. There are no wheels on the disk and full span appears to be about 6 feet. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like a JD disk I used to own a while back. think it was a JHB or similar model number. Was able to get the parts and operators manual from JD, along with whatever parts I needed. Only wished it had road wheels to get it too and from the field.
