I paid $500 for my 2 All Crop ACs here in Okla and they were shot, but they were close. One was restorable, one was junk. I didnt know which one which was which. I finally got one running and during using it the bearings one one side of the shaker went out. WQell nothing to do but put the other shaker in, and I did it in one day, but if you had asked me to do it asny other time Ida told you u were nuts. What Im trying to say, is, if you are not an excewllent mavchanic, or want to be, dont mess with an untried combine. If you find one. Grease the living swell out of it, every time you use it, and especially the chains and bearings. Put up the canvis in a safe dry rodent proof area. ( my dad and grandad would hang their binder canvasis from a length of bailer wire down in the tractort shed (at least that was what it was called by the time I came along) and not let it touvh the ground by 3ft). Make sure you get the canvasis with it. If they are in really good shape, chances are the combine is also. If they are rotton, patched, ripped or the wood splints broken, RUN. You will need a minimum 30hp tractor to pull one with any speed and it not slow down and clog up the combine. If you can find one with an engine, in good shape, grab it, as then you could pull one with an 8N Ford ( on level ground).
