I'm looking at possibly buying a Super 66 New Hlland baler. Does anyone know what year they were made and if they were good balers? Also what they may be worth? Are parts still available? Thanks in advance.

New Holland has pretty much been the standard for "square" balers. Several years ago we baled over 5500 bales on a weekend. Since Ford sold Ford-New Holland, parts availability for older equipment has become iffy.

I have owned a Super 66 baler for the past 6 or so years. It has baled 2000 bales per year every year, this year baled over 3100 bales. I haven't had any trouble getting parts, haven't needed may either. I paid $400 when I purchased it 6 years ago. I have made some repairs, replaced some knotter parts, bearings on the plunger, replaced a tire, a few shear pins, and had the needle holes welded to remove the groove. A good baler, not a high volume, make sure you get an owners manual. Mine needs new wood blocks on the plunger, and needs the pickup rebuilt, too many teeth missing. Around here I have seen them sell for $200 and up, depending on condition.
