I have an 853 we bought new in 1990.Have put about 6000+ bales through it with practically no problems. Replaced a few idler bearings and the right air bag.I use bar and chain oil to lube the chains. The auto oilers get 30 wt. What part of Va are you in?

Makes bales 57" wide, up to 60" diameter. Up to 1200 lbs. This is the older chain/slat type baler. I have one that I use to make about 300 bales a year. Baler works well in all types of hay except very short 2nd cutting. Doesn't like to start bales in that type of hay no matter how many swaths you rake together. Also if you have rocky fields, a stone in the chamber can cause havoc with the slats. If properly maintained, they are a good baler.
