Assuming it's in good working order. And by the way how do I tell that it's in good working order?

You should be able to find a No 8-2 furrow for $200. max. Items to watch for straight frame, wear on moalboards and landsides. Points to but they are the cheap part. Unless you plan to travell around to different fields I would go with steel wheels. I have owned in my lifetime; 3 mounted plows two furrow, one no 8 on steel 2 furrow, 3 No 60 on rubber 1-3 furrow and 2-4 furrow and a 510 semi-mount on rubber 5 furrow. My experience, rubber tired plows have more flat tires than any other implement on farm.

If it has good moldboard , lays are good and no broken parts like castings on tail wheel ect. If it has rubber tires might work better it wet soil.Otherwise steel means no flats.Rear rubber tire could alittle costly. A few years ago could buy them for junk price. Now maybe 50 to 150 or more. .
