Any one familiar with this disc? Seen one for sale had 22 inch disc and 11 inch spacing and was 12 feet wide, looked real heavy.I guess that this was a breaking disc, were they any good and would they level good? Could a 80 HP tractor pull it on breaking ground? Will it do a good job of discing or would you have to go back with a finishing disc or a field cultivator to make a sedbed? Thanks

Not familar with that disk, but sounds like an offset disk. General rule around here is that you need MINIMUM of 10 PTO HP per foot of disk width.

18" discs require about .75 hp per blade. That of course is a disc in good cutting condition. Those larger blades will take more hp.

I once had two Bushhog discs one a conventional tandem around 20' cut with 80- 18" discs, the other an offset 11' with 24- 26" plates. I bought these new the same year and can tell you the offset pulled only marginally easier than the tandem. Either of them required a 100 hp to do the job. Remember those heavy offsets are a primary tillage tool and in a class by themselves.

I know that a local farmer here uses a white disc but its probably about 15 feet wide.He puts a white 2-150 on it,disc blades are probably 18 in.I think you'd need about 100 hp to pull the 265 with ease.
