I've run across a 2-12 MF 3-point plow. What should I look at in evaluating the plow? I apologize for asking such a basic questions, but the last farm implements I evaluated had "Tonka" stamped on them ...

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Make sure it has "throw-away-shares." i.e.-straight blade, separate shin and moldboard. Long nose fitted type shares are hard to find. Also look to see if farm supply stores like CT or TSC in your area have replacements for the plow. Agco-MF parts are very expensive.
If it passes that test, make sure the beams aren't twisted or bent. Also look to see that the furrow wheel isn't worn out or missing parts.
