John, Sorry if I'm pestering you. I see you have lots of posts here mostly giving information to those of us with questions. However, I'm not having any luck getting ahold of you with a question.

I've seen you say wagons/running gear in your area are nearly worthless. I need a flat wagon or gear I could build into a wagon for haying and hay rides. Do you know of any decent ones that would not be too expensive?

What part of NE are you in? I'm coming to the Lincoln/Omaha area this weekend (Feb. 1-2) with a trailer if you know of any cheap wagons, please let me know.

Thanks James Martin

Gee Mike, I'm just north of Omaha too. James I will check with a guy here tomorrow if I can. Problem right now is some of these old wagons are sitting on farm places owned by snowbirds, in other words, the owners are in Arizona right now. Plus, they're probably kinda froze down. And at least four of the ones I had in mind got bulldozed with the rest of the farm places. But, What kinda of wheels and tires are you looking for on one? 6x15 rims,, or the bigger floatation type rims?

I don't need the floatation type tires. I would like to find a basic 5-6 ton gear that is in decent shape and not home built on a car frame or anything. I can find new tires if the existing ones are bad. I plan to use it for baling about 35 acres of hay and for hay rack rides. I don't want to put a bunch of people on a wagon that isn't safe. My wife really wants to have the hay ride, so I can tell her I got the wagons for her. I just bought the mower, rake and baler, so she is watching me pretty close to be sure I don't spend too much more money. (She's a city girl, and doesn't always understand that I will use the equipment to get my money back.)

Thanks
James Martin

I am north of Omaha area and go to sales quite often. What kind of gear are you looking for? I have a oliver gear that I would probably sell, it has a hoist but needs a box.

Thanks for your reply. I'd sure be interested in hearing more about what you have and what you want for it. I've been trying to reach John NE, because he has said there is a handful of wagons he could have for the taking.

I will try to send you an e-mail.

James
