Found a 6' sindwinder bush hog, it is the one which the pto turns a tire which turns the cutter head, apparently tire acts like a slip clutch. It appears to be in good shape. Anyone ever used one of these? All input appreciated.

I am looking for a pull behind sidewinder - 10 foot - rotary mower for field maintenance. How do I get ahold of one?

We have a 7' pull-type Sidewinder. The pneumatic tire blew out a few years ago and I think the new one was close to $150, but that's the only thing we've ever bought for it. Ours windrows the clippings out the left side, right in the tractor tire track, which makes a neat looking job. I guess that's why their name is Sidewinder. We have a 6' Bushhog with gearbox, and I think it pulls the tractor more than the 7' Sidewinder. I would definately recommend a Sidewinder.

does anyone have a pic of the drive setup on one of these mowers? how big of a tire do they use, are these usualy like 6 foot mowers or much bigger. it sounds interesting and might be a cheap way to homebuild a brushog

My dad has an 8'. It's great, practically indestructable. Stumps, rocks, cedars.

If I'd known they were making flex wings 2 yrs ago I would have gotten a new one instead of what I got.
