I was wondering what older balers going for in your area. I would like to get one for the few acres I have, but don't find any around. Just curious if I find one what would be a general price for one.

Thanks,

Here in west-central Maryland, you can get one that runs some but requires TLC to get it running well for around $400. Starting around $600-$700, you can get an older but still sound NH...and they go up from there.

Western Oregon seems to be getting around $800 to $1000 for a "ready to use but barely" baler. That's for one that's as cheap as you can get and still be baling ready.

Here in N. FL they run between $800 (read needs lots of work) to $2500 for the square balers. Round balers are out of my price range at $6k and above. Been looking for one myself for baling pine needles (pine straw aka mulch) but not much for sale and haven't seen any lying around.

Around here SW Mo, around eight hundred will buy a useable baler. My last square baler purchase was one hundred dollars that I was going to use for a parts baler but ended up using it to bale about two thousand bales before i traded it off. they can be found even cheaper if you do not get in too big of a hurry.

About $400-500 will get a 24T Deere or comp in central KY. Take a big leap for a 336, dealer offered me 2500 trade in on mine.

Around here in New Jersey, a good baler like a New Holland 276 will bring $1500-$2000 at auction. A good JD 24T will go for $1000-$1500. (these prices include bale throwers/ejectors). An older baler with only a chute might not bring as much. A good NH S68 with chute brought $300 one sale. I sold one JD336 with #30 ejector in good working order for $2600 (within 2 days of advertising) and traded the nicer 336 with #30 ejector in for $3500 towards my new Hesston 4550.
