Dean,

You probably have a 44H or 44AH plow. The 44H has a rigid tail wheel and transports on the two front wheels. The 44AH has a tail wheel that moves up and - thus it transports on all three wheels.

The wheels don't fit any tractors that I'm aware of. The hubs on the plow ride on a greased sleeve. Most tractors use roller bearings.

Value? Depends on the condition - especially the points, moldboards, land sides and whether if it's complete with coulters and jointers. I bought one for $30 that was in really bad shape to use as a parts plow. I've seen them bring as much as $275.00 for one with excellent tires that was ready to drop in the ground and go plowing.

Just curious - is yours on steel or rubber?

Hope this helps, DaveH

Didn't proofread my reply before I sent it. Last sentence of the first paragraph should have been -

The 44AH has a tail wheel that moves up and down - thus it transports on all three wheels.

Sorry if I confused you. DaveH

Dean,
I dug out all the information and literature that I have on this plow. I have a list of JD plows that I copied off of one of these discussion boards that shows it being manufactured from 1945-1957. I don't know if this is 100% accurate or not, but it is at least close. All of the pieces of literature that I have are dated 1950,1952, and 1953. So it would have been sold with the late styled model B and the model 50. If it was made through 1957 it could have been sold with the 520. A 2-12" would have been a really light load for a model A or even the 520. I've always considered the 44 plow to be proper behind the B or 50, but I am not an expert either.
